This Dutchman boom brake / preventer BB500 hard vang is in excellent like new condition. Allows for the boom to be easily controlled from the cockpit. The 2 top sheaves are fixed while the bottom sheave can be released by loosening the handle. Large stainless steel shackle that has a 1 1/4” width. The sheaves seem to be 3” diameter and can handle 1/2” line. Research appears this works best for a 28’-45’ boat length. Has a max workload of 2700 pounds.
