Reuse of Sunken Boat Parts
Just because a boat has been under water for hours or even weeks we can still save a lot of good usable parts, especially aluminum, stainless steel, and bronze items.
Occasionally we are asked to raise a boat from the bottom of a river or creek. Depending on the depth of the water and the draft of the boat, this can be a daunting task, but is also very rewarding to take a boat off of the bottom!
You may wonder why we would get parts off of a boat that has sunk, but if you think about it there are lots of parts that are made to be in the elements and are often wet. Of course the engine and electrictronics are no longer of use, but most parts on the outside of the boat are aluminum, stainless steel, or bronze and these parts can be salvaged and reused on other boats.
